Braselton Homes has once again ranked nationally among homebuilders in the United States. Professional Builder Magazine named the company #214 on its “2018 Housing Giant” list, compiled based on revenue for the previous year. The magazine ranks the top 400 builders in the country by gross revenue.
Builder Magazine ranked Braselton Homes #183 on its Builder 100 “Next 100” list of homebuilders in the country. This list compiles the largest 200 homebuilders based on housing starts in the previous year, a list they call their “fastest up and coming” builders.
The competition is stiff- each year the magazines compare over 40,000 homebuilders around the country for the rankings.
“The combination of a thriving economy and pro growth environment in the Coastal Bend along with three generations of building experience for the Braselton family gives us the tools we need for success. The rest of it is building the neighborhoods and homes that folks want to live in,” says Bart Braselton, Executive Vice President of Braselton Homes Inc.

As we roll into the summer months, we’re taking time to assess a really spectacular year for our company. Braselton Homes has been blessed, in the last few months, to be busy racking up a list of top industry and local community organizations that have chosen to recognize us for our work here in South Texas.
As the largest homebuilder south of San Antonio, we are proud of the selection as a national “Housing Giant” from Professional Builder Magazine as well as recognition by Builder Magazine in their “Next 100,” a list of the largest home builders in the nation. But the recognition from national organizations for our commitment to stewardship of the environment is something of which we are even more proud. This year, we have received the Energy Star High Performance Award, the Environments for Living Diamond Award, and locally, we were honored with the the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation Environmental Stewardship Award. Braselton was the first builder to ever be so honored by the Bays Foundation.
Braselton Homes is also proud to top our own Builder’s Association list as one the most awarded home builders in the Corpus Christi area; with Parade of Homes, GreenBuilding, and other recognitions, we have received scores of awards over the last few years.
Industry awards are a great honor, and remind us that our hard work building beautiful homes and neighborhoods for our friends and neighbors to live in is important, but we also take our commitment to our local community very seriously. So, it is doubly an honor for us to receive recognition for our efforts to help those that need help the most through our “Community Builder” programs, which support key charities and ministries throughout the Coastal Bend.
Mentoring our youth and giving them the tools they need to succeed is all part of building the fabric of our community, and our work in this area has been such a rewarding experience. We are proud to sponsor the ECF Community Center’s tutoring and after school programs for inner-city children, as well as to work with Fish for Life, a Christian organization that partners with the local juvenile justice system to mentor at-risk youth and building a better future for our city. We also have made a commitment to the most vulnerable in our community, women and children, who have been abused by the sex trafficking industry. We were honored to sponsor the the New Life Refuge Ministry’s Celebration of Courage and to work with them to build a home for those rescued from this horrible experience . The organization graciously dubbed it the “Braselton Home.” And, we are also happy to be the main sponsor of new housing for women and children at the Salvation Army’s new Center of Hope, which will provide a long term stay for moms with kids.
There’s such an amazing and supportive community here in the Coastal Bend, and we are so pleased to have been a part of it for the past three generations. Together, we’re all building a bright future for our area!
See you in the neighborhood,
Over the last 70 years, the Braselton family has had the honor and privelege to shape Corpus Christi history by building many of the iconic buildings that make our city special as well as the neighborhoods that give its residents a unique place to call home.
Our history in the area began in 1945 when Guy Braselton, a West Texas carpenter who had risen through the ranks to lead construction crews, came to Corpus Christi to build a children’s home destroyed in a fire. When he saw Corpus Christi Bay for the first time, he proclaimed, “This is the place!” and… we have been here ever since.
This has given our family a chance to build some of Corpus Christi’s landmarks, such as One Shoreline Plaza, the Corpus Christi International Airport, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, the Texas A&M University Library, and the old City Hall building. We have also built some of our most historic places to live and for visitors to stay downtown, including Cliff House Condominiums, Marina del Sol, the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach and the Best Western on the Bayfront.
We added our mark in education and houses of worship, building Mireles Elementary School and Temple Beth El- and even built iconic retail locations like the Alan Samuels Chevrolet dealership and the Corpus Christi Main Post Office.
We were even at the forefront of developing Padre Island as a vacation destination, building the Port Royal Condominiums on Mustang island and the first phase of Cinnamon Shore.
Braselton Homes has grown from a small custom homebuilder to a company that has now been consistently ranked as one of the Top Builders in the United States and has won numerous local, state and national awards. Thousands of families in the Coastal Bend have trusted the Braseltons with their New Home, and generations of Corpus Christians have lived, worked, and vacationed in our projects. We are so proud to have been given this opportunity to help this town grow and look forward to the next generation!
Braselton Homes was pleased to play host March 22 for the Coastal Bend United Chamber of Commerce’s Mi Casa Su Casa event. The quarterly mixer honors a leader of the community and raises funds for the Mano a Mano scholarship fund, and this event paid tribute to our beloved City Manager, Margie Rose.
Supporters from around the Coastal Bend gathered together, complete with drinks from Celebrity Waiters featuring members of the Braselton Homes team, to mix and mingle and support the good work of the Mano a Mano program, all in the lovely environment of the beautiful Rancho Vista model home.
We’d like to thank the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce for choosing us to host and all the folks who came out to spend the evening with us and support this great cause!

The Braselton Homes Inc. family had so much fun December 12 distributing toys with the folks from the E.C.F. Community Center at Zavala Elementary in Corpus Christi. The kiddos were selected by the school counselor and principal from families living below the poverty line, who would be struggling this year to give gifts to their children- and it was such a joy for us to hand out over 100 toys donated by our staff and subcontractors and make Christmas special for these families.
From our family to yours, we want to wish all of you a happy and blessed Christmas.
Our Christian faith is not only an integral part of who we are as a family, but also an important part of our corporate culture. Therefore, we felt honored and blessed for our patriarch and matriarch, Vanessa and Fred Braselton, to be chosen by the South Texas School of Christian Studies for their annual Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2017 Hand and Dove.
The ceremony took place November 2 and recognized the couple for the family’s three generations of commitment to Christian leadership in the Coastal Bend. We look forward to many more years (and generations!) serving our community as builders of homes and Christian fellowship.

One of the things we are most proud of at Braselton Homes is our commitment to the health of the inhabitants of our homes. The advances in technology over the past few years to keep your home cleaner and healthier are impressive, and our research team has dedicated years of study to making sure we are on the forefront of this movement to make our homes as healthy as possible- even if your pets are responsible for a barrage of hair and dander in your home!
This starts, of course, with the air and the water in our homes. UV water filtration systems remove 99.9% of microorganisms in the water coming into our homes, so water boils do not affect our homebuyers nor do they have to worry about their families bathing in or being otherwise exposed to the chlorine, pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, and other toxins that plague municipal water systems. This also ensures the pipes in our home won’t corrode or have the buildup in them that pipes subjected to city water experience.
We also use UV air filtration and high efficiency pleated, rollout AC filters. These system controls airborne irritants such as pollen, pet dander, and the carbon monoxide and other chemicals that build up inside a home. This reduces the asthma, respiratory problems, and allergies that are so rampant in our area. Our homes are also built using low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) present in many new carpets, cabinets and paint that can be extremely harmful to your health, so our homeowners can rest easy that they are not subjecting their families to a barrage of toxins when they move into their new home.
Our advanced ventilation systems work hard to control the humidity level in your home, which enhances the efficiency of the air conditioning system but also prevents the buildup of mold and mildew in the walls of a home- greatly increasing the health of the inhabitants.
We even install touchless water faucets in our kitchens to prevent bacteria and other food contaminants from permeating your kitchen!
Our commitment to the quality of the air and water in our homes is a commitment to our homebuyers that their home will be as healthy and environmentally sensitive as possible- leading them to a life free of toxins, pollutants, allergens, mold and mildew that can cause so many long-term health issues for so many. With our advanced systems, even your fur baby can’t ruin your healthy home!
As a third generation Corpus Christians, the devastation Horrible Harvey wreaked on our area has been heartbreaking to the Braselton family. The Coastal Bend has been dealt a serious blow, and our hearts go out to those in our neighboring communities who were so catastrophically affected by this storm.
But we are Texas Proud and Coastal Bend Strong, and we know that the resiliency that our community is known for and the neighbor-helping-neighbor attitude that has gotten us through many a disaster before has shown through and we are inspired, humbled, and proud of the response of the Coastal Bend.
As we rebuild our homes, our neighborhoods, our towns, and our cities, we are cognizant of the amazing power that folks will have to protect themselves from Mother Nature in the future. The technological breakthroughs of modern engineering to address the challenges of the high winds that plague our coastal cities are nothing short of a modern miracle. As people rebuild or relocate into homes that were not severely damaged, they will be protected from the elements in ways that we could not have even imagined even as few as ten years ago.
As the largest homebuilders South of San Antonio, Braselton Homes has taken great pains to ensure that our contractors are proficient in the execution of the latest windstorm codes and taking advantage of the most cutting-edge engineering practices to protect our homeowners from storm damage. We are building the most homes here on the coast, and our highest priority is the safety and security of the families who live in these homes.
As we come together to rebuild our communities, we can look forward to a bright future as more homeowners will be living in homes built according to these codes. Dark days are upon us, but the opportunity is real for us to come back stronger, together.
